University and early adulthood can be an exciting time, but it can also bring pressure, uncertainty and change. You may be adjusting to a new place, managing academic expectations, navigating relationships, thinking about your identity or future, or simply feeling that things have become too much.
Counselling can offer a space that is just for you: somewhere to pause, talk things through and make sense of what you are going through.
You don't need to know exactly what you want from counselling before you begin. We can use an initial conversation to talk about what is happening for you, what you might be looking for, and whether counselling feels like something that could be helpful. You can ask questions and take the time you need to decide whether working with me feels right for you.
An important part of counselling is confidentiality. What you share with me will be kept private and will not be discussed with your family, university, GP or anyone else without your permission.
There are a small number of exceptions, which I will explain clearly when we begin working together. These are mainly where there is a serious concern about your safety or someone else's safety, or where I have a legal duty to share information. Wherever possible, I would discuss this with you first.
Your autonomy is important to me. You decide what you would like to bring to counselling, and you can choose what you are ready to explore.
You don't need to have the right words or know where to start. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you are ready, and you can ask questions or let me know if something doesn't feel right for you.
My role is not to tell you what you should do. I will work alongside you to help you understand your experiences, thoughts and feelings, so that you can make your own decisions about what you want for yourself.
I offer one-to-one counselling for students and young adults aged 18 and over, online and in person in Ealing. Sessions are available in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
I want counselling to be accessible to young adults, so I offer a concessionary rate for clients aged 18–25.
Online counselling: £55 per 50-minute session
In-person counselling: £70 per 50-minute session, in Ealing
The concessionary rate is available for a limited number of spaces. Please get in touch to ask about availability.
I currently work with adults aged 18 and over only. If you are under 18, you may wish to contact your local CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), your GP, school or college wellbeing team for information about suitable talking-therapy support.
